Outdoor Photo Experience offers landscape & night sky photography experiences, fine art printing workshops, online mentoring, and private guiding & photo tours. We serve the Sierra Nevada including Mammoth Lakes, Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe and the Eastern Sierra. We also travel to Death Valley, The Pacific Northwest (PNW), the Oregon and California coast, the Southwest including Utah, Arizona & Colorado and beyond.

Hi! We're Brittany Colt & Shawn Reeder, the artists, and lovers of life experiences behind Outdoor Photo Experience. Our mission is simple, to help provide you with an amazing experience outside in nature, doing something that you love, photography, in some of the most beautiful locations on earth.

We realize that not everyone wants the same things in an outdoor photo experience, photo tour, private guide, or private mentoring workshop. So we offer a variety of different options from group photography experiences scheduled throughout the year to custom private workshops or online Photoshop & Lightroom mentoring. We love giving you the ability to create your own custom private mentoring experience, including both in-the-field private workshops and online.

Both of us work the multi-day group experiences offering a wonderful dynamic of masculine and feminine synergy and offering complimentary points of view. Brittany handles most private photography workshops and Photoshop mentoring while Shawn handles any timelapse or drone workshop & mentoring requests as well as helps with Lightroom.

Our goal from the beginning has always been to foster you having memorable and meaningful outdoor photo experiences while helping you hone your craft of photography and digital processing. And to experience being in amazing locations for landscape, abstract, intimate, and night-sky photography in great light, with new friends and community.

We specialize in the Eastern Sierra, Yosemite Valley, Tioga Pass, Tuolumne Meadows, the ancient Bristlecone Pine forest, Alabama Hills, Mono Lake, and Death Valley. We travel whenever we can and regularly photograph the California & Oregon Coast, the Pacific Northwest (PNW), and the Desert Southwest of Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. We love to travel and are available for custom destinations.

Private Workshops & Online Mentoring

Do you want to customize your own private workshop or photo guide? Maybe set up a custom photo tour to a location you’ve always wanted to photograph? Or get personalized help and online instruction for your editing using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop? These are just some of the possibilities available with private mentoring & workshops.

We are delighted to offer private photography workshops and custom online mentoring sessions. These in-the-field workshops and online mentoring sessions offer you a unique experience for truly personalized instruction. They can be combined or purchased separately for total flexibility.

Our private workshops are focused on the Eastern Sierra and Yosemite and are also available worldwide for adventurous souls wanting a custom outdoor photo experience. Online mentoring is via Zoom and also includes a video recording of the mentoring session for you to be able to watch as many times as you need to hone your new skills.

Brittany handles most private photography workshops and photoshop mentoring while Shawn handles any timelapse or drone workshop & mentoring requests and helps with Lightroom. We're so excited to work with you!

We met through a common photographer friend in one of our favorite National Parks in the world, the incomparable Yosemite. Over the last couple of years, our friendship has blossomed and we came to realize that we share a special synergy and ability to give people amazing experiences in beautiful nature.

Brittany came to Yosemite as a staff photographer for the Ansel Adams Gallery and has been leading their education department for the last few years. In just over 4 years she has created a Yosemite portfolio unlike anyone else with her exquisite eye for details and intimate scenes. Her expertise with Photoshop is also evident in her meticulously stunning processing.

Shawn spent his entire 20’s living seasonally in Yosemite’s high country, Tuolumne Meadows. There he hiked, climbed, and explored all the while with camera in hand, capturing sweeping grand landscapes, spectacular night skies, and magical moments. He also developed a special interest in timelapse photography which he is thrilled to be able to share with you.
